1000 Points of Blight

AMERICA”S FLAWED DEMOCRACY IS CAUSING GREAT HARM AND SUFFERING TO THE CITIZENS WHO OWN THIS COUNTRY. THESE INJUSTICES ARE INFLICTED PRIMARILY BY POWERFUL BUSINESS INTERESTS WHO HAVE GAINED CONTROL OF OUR PEOPLES DEMOCRACY. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, THERE MUST BE A BETTER BALANCE OF NATIONAL POLICIES AND PRIORITIES TOWARDS THE INTERESTS AND WELL BEING OF OUR CITIZENS – AND A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT ON EARTH.

1.The new millennium begins with America going to war under suspect pretenses with Iraq, benefiting oil companies, security firms, contractors and a host of private and public officials who grew rich from the endeavor. Meanwhile many soldiers and civilians are killed or wounded and our national treasury depleted. Much of the middle east remains in a war mode. The cost in loss of innocent lives is overwhelming and shameful.

2. Under our pay for play system of government, big businesses and their lobbyists become adept at finding new ways to circumvent laws and previous norms. The housing crises, a result of greedy corrupt financial practices, causes American citizens to lose their homes and results in more suffering for the common people. A major recession ensues. The financial sector and some industries are bailed out by our government.

3. With the extreme wealth and power gained by using our government and military to achieve their goals in Iraq and middle east, the fossil fuel industry learned that they could dominate our democracy. Creative forms of bribery bought the allegiance of many public officials in the highest places of our government. These corrupted politicians always hold a common line for their benefactors. Climate change is a hoax. America needs fracking to the maximum. Clean energy policies are aren’t a good idea. Our President should be a coal and oil advocate. Meanwhile Earth’s environment is wreaking havoc on populations around the world. Numerous superstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods, freezes and droughts are making it impossible for average people to live unscathed by disasters. More suffering, so that super wealthy groups can control the business model that is outdated but most profitable for themselves.

4. Pharmaceutical companies make billions creating drugs and treatments for our citizens. Many drugs save lives and have huge benefits. Most of these companies are well principled and appreciated by Americans. But in many cases the industry has gone out of control with greed and corruption. Using their wealth to gain power in the highest levels of our government, they control policies and legislation. Our pay to play system enabled opioid production and sales to resemble a cartel seeking to addict millions of Americans to their drugs. Misery and death, broken families, criminality and incarceration, we should be asking how this was allowed to happen in America for so long. The answer is, the public servants that we count on to prevent such catastrophes were bought and their silence paid for.

5. Genetically modified food. What American citizen asked for this? Does it matter to the corporations responsible that we and our children may be harmed in ways not yet identified? Tomatoes are a perfect example. They have become practically inedible and cause gastronomical side effects. Oh yes, but we can spend more to buy organic. Why shouldn’t the good citizens of America have what we have always had, what other countries still have. Non GMO food!

6. Fracking America and the side effects. Groundwater pollution, air pollution, earthquakes, tremors and ground instability. It’s not about energy independence for America. They sell the oil to other countries as well. It’s about further raping natural resources for profit at the expense of America’s precious clean groundwater and environment. It is one of those detrimental endeavors that will be exposed as such in the years to come, but too late to avoid the damage done.

7. The homeless population of America. Everyday our politicians witness the ever increasing group of American men, women and children living outdoors on the streets of our cities. Never do we hear of ideas or plans to help rectify this situation. The greedy unscrupulous group that we call leaders have no time or appetite to help those that cannot pay to play in our current corrupt system. That is the fatal flaw – American citizens have no bribery money input in our system and therefore do not have any real leverage. Especially now – when our voting rights are being dissolved.
