The coup attempt on Jan. 6th at our nation’s capitol was not a spur of the moment event led by disgruntled ordinary citizen voters, but rather a long planned and carefully orchestrated last ditch effort to overthrow a free election. This illegal act was committed by the former president, his administration cohorts in crime, and a collection of militia groups. These military trained insurgents had been stoked over a long period of time by the former president and his associates, who knew their capabilities and weaponry very well. They had been contacted for the very purpose of government overthrow, when the former president and his group of corrupt supporters deemed their violent actions necessary to hold onto power. In our opinion the story of how this coup attempt happened in the United States of America begins a long time ago – in 2000.
The presidential election in 2000 was a hard fought contest that resulted in an almost virtual tie between the candidates. The democrat happened to be a champion against climate change and for green energy sources. The republican and his vice president were both lifetime oil men that were strongly supported by the fossil fuel industry. The close decision of which party would garner the presidency came down to the state of Florida and how paper ballots were interpreted by election officials there. The supreme court was ultimately called on to make the decision as to who won. The republican was announced the winner and the democrat graciously conceded rather than staging a protracted fight. The winning republican administration effectively gave oil companies too much power in our democracy. It turned out that they had big plans for the power and influence that they gained in the white house. They had seen first hand the immense oil reserves in Iraq and other middle eastern countries during the first Iraq war. They saw an opportunity to gain vast wealth in the region. They needed to take control of Iraq to make that happen. Their chance came with the horrific terrorist attack on 9.11.2001 in New York City. Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda were of course deemed responsible, but the blame was extended on false pretenses to include Iraq. We all know Saddam Hussein was a horrible dictator but there were no weapons of mass destruction that would warrant an invasion by American forces. The following invasion was costly to American soldiers and Iraqi civilians in terms of dead and wounded. The war also cost our national treasury dearly. At the same time, oil companies, contractors, weapons manufacturers and a host of individuals became exorbitantly wealthy. America had never before seen such an assortment of schemes to plunder and grab billions, probably trillions by now. These bold moves made the fossil fuel industry and the weapons manufacturing industry the strongest groups in America.
In 2008 the republican presidential reign came to an end with the election of a black democratic president. He wasn’t an oil man or even someone who was easily swayed by corrupt industry schemes of any kind. Powerful industry groups detested his support of clean energy and participation in the Paris climate accord. He wouldn’t relax regulations for industries as they wished. He stood up for average people more than big businesses. They hated his time in office and could not wait for his terms to expire. In the meantime, there were new developments in media platforms. Talk radio and television programs pushed forward opinion shows that featured professional antagonists that cultivated the divide between blacks, browns and whites with a fervor like corrupt preachers. They repeated hateful lies and half truths cleverly under the guise of “free speech”. Propaganda with a purpose of discourse and division would be more accurate. Year by year they intentionally built an army of angry devoted followers that were immersed in hateful rhetoric aimed at whoever the opinionated big mouths chose to attack. This is when the American public changed into a desperate struggle between republicans and democrats so that even family members were bitterly divided over politics. At the same time big business was choosing their ideal candidate to oppose the democratic nominee in 2016. They wanted someone with the moxie to restore their industries to a position of power in the white house. They wanted someone to accommodate every desire that any business group might have. Someone so unscrupulous and corrupt that industries could be effectively in charge of our American democracy itself. They found their ideal corrupt conniving dealmaker in a egomaniacal New York real estate mogul.
Occasionally in history a leader comes along that has a combination of attributes and characteristics that mesmerize other people. It is probably very close to a form of hypnotism. Dictators have this ability. Cult leaders also. Church leaders can have great charisma. The problem is when one of these individuals is sick with greed, unbridled ambition and willingness to be totally corrupt. This type is addicted to total power over anyone and everything in their path, have the ability to lie at will, have complete lack of conscious, and ironically, a built in disgust and disrespect for the people that they are leading. Such are all the dangerous dictators that the world has known. With this type of leader, big businesses, corporations and industries can literally have anything they want – as long as they pay tribute to the almighty leader. These type of leaders install family members in posts at the highest levels and constantly test every associate for loyalty above every other consideration. They eliminate any dissenters with swift and severe punishment until only subservient, fearful associates are left to do their every bidding, including bending and breaking laws. They work to root out any employees that won’t agree to their brazen master plan of a corrupt autocratic government. Starting with a gift of billions to America’s corporations, the previous president drew power and wealth to himself like a boa constrictor wrapped around our democracy and the workings of our government. The business sector was happier than ever before. The president actually put industry executives in charge of regulations for their own industry. Quietly and steadily they plundered in any way they desired without American citizens having a means to stop them. In America during this time, money could buy anything for big business. What’s worse, foreign interests were allowed to pay to play as well. American companies with ties to Russia kept silent, along with GOP legislators, as Russian leaders interfered in our American elections over and over again. These brazen actions were requested by our own president. This allowed a foreign country to gain a certain amount of control over our democracy. This treason by an American president went largely unpunished. America became openly disrespected by other world leaders as a phony, corrupt democracy – a new autocracy in the making.
The 2020 Presidential election happened next. This contest pitted the republican dictator type president against a democrat life long public servant. The republican had given billions of dollars in tax breaks to corporations in America and allowed businesses to regulate themselves. A few corporations effectively controlled the policies and future of America and the world. The democrat was a lifetime civil servant who believed in putting the American people first and Earth’s environment as well. These principles were completely contrary to what the republicans had become accustomed to and threatened the fossil fuel industry and weapons industry in particular. The democrats plans were devastating to the republicans desires. Russia also had become an ally of the republicans, being a oil and gas partner of American corporations. As the close election proceeded, republicans supported the brazen and sometimes illegal acts of their demagogue president as he made all the moves of a true dictator. When he lost the election, he refused to concede or transfer power peacefully. Still the republicans supported his behavior. Finally on Jan.6th he called for a rally of armed militia groups and other fervent and violent supporters. He stoked their anger the way he had learned to do so over years of instigation, and sent them to the capital to fight like hell and get their country back. The insurgents violently assaulted the capital with our legislators inside counting the electoral vote. 5 people died that day. America’s democratic sanctity was bludgeoned by criminals, led by the republican president. Now he has escaped effective judgement again and plans to run for president in 2024. ” I may just beat the democrats three times” he says. That’s just another lie. What he really plans to do is be America’s dictator for life, with his children succeeding him. Until then, he is a dictator of the republican party.
